Finally made it! This was the most epic road trip of a lifetime, and I'll atleast try to share with you some of the incredible experiences I have had so far. Our car, including Steven Gordon, and Melissa from New Mexico, arrived to Seward, Nebraska on the 20th, met up with 3 other cars, and then drove west to North Platte to spend the night in a church. We got on the road around 7:30 the next morning and travelled, I kid you not, 31 hours non-stop to arrive in Jasper, Alberta. Along the way we drove the entire length of Wyoming and Montana. One of the major highlights of the trip was our time spent in Yellowstone, where we were lucky enough to see Old Faithful erupt and a grizzly bear. It was crazy. After Yellowstone we drove through the night and arrived at the Canadian border at 6:30 the next morning. It felt like we had accomplished a lot, considering how far we had already driven, but the trip was really not even half over. We drove through Calgary and across the Canadian Rockies, making it to Jasper National Park that afternoon with plenty of time to hike and just hang out (another 2 cars joined us in Jasper). It has been great getting to know everybody involved in the trip, and I'm really looking forward to becoming even better friends with them. Leaving Jasper we crossed the rest of Alberta, all of British Columbia on the Alaskan Highway, and passed through the southern portion of the Yukon to arrive in Haines, Alaska on the 24th. The next day we boarded the ferry with our cars, and finally made it to Juneau around 10:00pm. Still trying to get used to the 3 hour time difference, haha. This has been an amazing experience so far, and I am so glad that I decided to drive. It was a great opportunity to see a lot of beautiful things, and even better was the time I had to get to know everybody on the trip. No words to describe how awesome it was. I'm so thankful that none of the vehicles had any trouble at all--I thank the Lord that everyone is safely in Juneau and that there were no flat tires or anything like that...other than one small incident with an elk in the road. Tomorrow is our first real day of Project Foxtrot, the beginning of what's going to be an incredible summer. Below are pictures of Old Faithful, a grizzly bear in Yellowstone, the Canadian border, arriving in Alaska, and the ferry ride to Juneau from Haines Port.
Those are some incredible pictures. I'm sure you will have an amazing summer. Ill be praying for you!
